If you feel you can help us help young people participate in
sport and outdoor activities, we have a JUST GIVING page HERE .
Body and Sole is the Cordiners’ own charity and aims to provide funding for footwear to
enable young people in Glasgow who could not otherwise afford to do so
to participate in sports and outdoor activities, such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award
Scheme. Although only started in 2017-2018, the project is growing very rapidly and
we anticipate the need to attract funding from other sources if we are to meet the
enormous need.
So far we have provided support to an Asylum-Seekers Football Team and several
schools including Smithycroft Secondary for its flourishing Duke of Edinburgh Award
project, Haghill and St Bernard’s Primary Schools. We were also delighted to be major
funders of the rebuilding of Glengoyne Lodge at Aughengillan for the 77th Glasgow
Disabled Scouts, one of the most transformative of all outdoor activities for young
people with additional needs.
Glengoyne Lodge
Deacon Bergman, with ExDeacon Dr Iain Lennox and Liam Entwistle, visited St Bernard's Primary, Nitshill to
present a cheque for £8000 to PEPASS (Physical Education, Physical Activity & School Sport) on behalf of Body
and Sole.
